From our shop in Clapham

We’re a small bunch of coffee people with a shop in Clapham.

You’ll usually find someone trying a fresh roast, another chatting about kit, and plenty of friendly faces.

We love showing how simple great coffee can be — no jargon, no fuss, just a few good beans and a bit of know-how.

If you’re ever nearby, come in for a coffee and a chat. We’ll help you brew something brilliant at home.

We often brew this at the Abbeville Road tasting station for people
who want something really different. Sumatra has a flavour that's completely
its own — earthy, spicy, and distinctive. Some people taste it once and it
becomes their favourite; others prefer something cleaner. Come in and we'll
pour it alongside a few others so you can decide where you land.

Simple ideas to try

Cafetière (French press)

1 rounded tablespoon (about 15 g) per 250 ml of water.

Pour hot water, stir, and leave for 4 minutes.

Press gently, then pour straight away.

Brings out the depth and earthy character.

Moka Pot

Fill the basket level with medium-fine grind.

Keep the heat gentle and stop the brew as soon as it starts to sputter.

Spicy, strong, and full-bodied.

Espresso (home machine)

Dial it in like you normally do — nothing fancy needed.

Intense, thick, and warming.

Frequently asked questions

Is it earthy?

Yes — that's part of its charm. It's a natural result of how Sumatran coffee is processed.

Does it work with milk?

We are unable to accept returns on certain items. These will be carefully marked before purchase.

Is it bitter?

Not harsh — more savoury and deep. Think warm spices, not burnt coffee.
