We love showing how simple great coffee can be — no jargon, no fuss, just a few good beans and a bit of know-how.

This is the one we pull at the Abbeville Road tasting station when someone walks in and says, "What's the strongest thing you have?" We usually brew it next to something like Easy Rider so people can taste the full range. Pop in and we'll show you what proper strong coffee tastes like!

Simple ideas to try

Espresso (home machine) 

Just do what you do - nothing complicated!

Thick, intense, full-throttle.

Moka Pot 

Fill the basket level with medium-fine grind.

Keep the heat gentle and stop the brew as soon as it starts to sputter.

Strong, spicy, and powerful. 

Cafetière (French press) 

1 rounded tablespoon (about 15 g) per 250 ml of water. 

Pour hot water, stir, and leave for 4 minutes. 

Press gently, then pour straight away.

Bold but surprisingly smooth for something this strong.

Is it bitter?

Yes — intentionally. Think dark chocolate with bite, not burnt toast.
Does it work with milk?

We are unable to accept returns on certain items. These will be carefully marked before purchase.
Will it wake me up?

Almost certainly. Robusta has roughly double the caffeine of Arabica.
