5 Steps for the Perfect Brew

1. Water In
Fill your Moka Pot with either cold or recently boiled water (to speed up the process) to just under the steam valve.

2. Coffee In
Put the filter in & fill it with medium0fine ground coffee. If you added hot water, be careful. Screw on the top of the section tightly.

3. Heat
Place your Moka Pot on the hob on a moderate heat. Leave the lid open. The coffee should start to dribble out.

4. Wait & Watch
Let the coffee dribble out until it starts spluttering meaning there is no water left. This can take up to 5 minutes.

5. Serve
Close the lid, remove from the heat, stir & pour.

Avoid patting down your coffee, otherwise known as 'tamping'. A loose pile of coffee will help the water percolate through.

Moderate Heat
For best results, keep the heat low by using a low flame. Let the coffee dribble out until it starts spluttering meaning there is no water left. This ensure you'll extract only the best parts of the coffee.
