The bit you do yourself

Grind, tamp, pull, texture. It takes a few goes to find your settings, and then the coffee is yours rather than the machine’s.

Which coffee works best

Whole beans, and our espresso style coffees are the ones built for this. Ground fine by the machine, they give you a shot with body rather than something thin.

If a shot comes out sour, the grind is too coarse. Bitter means too fine. That is usually the only dial you need to touch.
