How to make it

Filter paper in, then two tablespoons of medium ground coffee.

Pour just enough hot water to wet all the coffee, and wait 30 seconds. It will puff up. That is meant to happen.

Then pour the rest slowly, in circles, until your cup is full. Lift the V60 off and bin the paper.

Which coffee works best

Medium grind, roughly the texture of table salt. Pour-over is the method that shows off a coffee most, so it is worth using something you actually like.

If it drips through too fast and tastes thin, grind finer. If it stalls, go coarser.

Frequently asked questions
Which size do I need?

Check the underside of your dripper, the size number is printed on it. Size 02 is the usual home size.
Do I need to rinse the paper first?

You do not have to, but rinsing with hot water before you brew warms the cone and takes off any papery taste.
How long will 40 last?

One per brew, so around six weeks if you make a V60 most days.
