Coffee Beans
Whole bean coffee, roasted in small batches here in the UK. Mellow and easy-drinking at one end of the range, dark and intense at the other, so you can pick by how you actually drink it.
Grinding at the last minute is the whole point of buying beans. Fresh grounds hold on to the oils and aromatics that carry the flavour, and those start escaping the moment coffee is ground. Tear open a bag on a Saturday morning and the whole kitchen knows about it.
Darker roasts, around intensity 9 and above, stand up to pressure and suit an espresso machine or a moka pot. Medium and lighter roasts hold on to the fruit and floral notes, which is where a V60 or a filter machine earns its keep. A cafetière will take almost anything, ground coarse.
Every bean on this page tells you how it tastes and how strong it is. If you already know you want something big and dark, start with our strong coffee. If you'd rather taste where the coffee actually came from, start with the single origins.
