The Clever Dripper is a coffee maker that combines the rich intensity of a cafetière with the clean taste of a filter coffee.

Uses full immersion brewing, meaning the coffee sits in water before being filtered for a full-bodied & smooth cup of coffee.

Convenient for making 1-2 cups of coffee in one-go.

What you Need:

  • Filter Paper
  • 3 heaped tablespoons (or 20g) of medium ground coffee (like granulated sugar)
  • Hot water - to fill 2 mugs (or 330ml)

How to Use This Clever Dripper:

  1. Place a paper filter inside the dripper & add the coffee.
  2. Pour hot water into the dripper & wait for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Put the dripper on your mug to release the coffee.

How to make it

Paper in the dripper, then the coffee.

Pour in hot water, enough for two mugs, and leave it three to four minutes.

Stand it on your mug. That is what opens the valve and lets it drain.

Which coffee works best

Medium grind, about 20g for two mugs. Roughly the texture of granulated sugar.

It suits a coffee with some body to it. Our espresso style and darker roasts come out particularly well.

How is it different from a cafetière?

A cafetière presses the grounds and lets the fines through, which is where the body and the sediment both come from. The Clever Dripper soaks the coffee the same way, then filters it on the way out. You keep the body and lose the grit.
