That's the whole argument for bean to cup, and it's an easy one to taste. Ground coffee starts giving up its oils and aromatics the moment it's ground, which is why the jar at the back of the cupboard tastes like nothing. A bean to cup never gives it the chance. Beans in the top, coffee out the bottom.
