A Rich, Italian Classic, Since 1933.

The Moka Pot is a stovetop coffee maker that uses steam pressure to brew rich, espresso-style coffee with a bold flavour & velvety mouthfeel.

Choose 3-Cup Moka Pot to make 3 espresso size servings or 6-Cup Moka Pot for up to 6 servings.

How to Make

  1. Add water to the base (just below the valve) & fill the coffee basket with finely ground coffee (no pressing).
  2. Assemble the Moka Pot placing the coffee basket into the base & screwing the top on. Place on low to medium heat with the lid open. Wait until coffee bubbles into the top.
  3. As soon as you hear a gurgling sound, remove from the heat. Close the lid, & pour.

What You Need

  • Moka Pot
  • 20g/40g of fine-ground coffee
  • Hot water to fill the Moka Pot base

Please note that our Ground Coffee is not fine enough for the Moka Pot, but you can purchase our Beans and grind them yourself.

How to make it

Water into the base, up to just below the valve. Fine ground coffee into the basket, level, no pressing.

Screw the top on. Low to medium heat, lid open.

When it starts to gurgle, take it off the heat and pour. Low heat is the bit most people get wrong.

Which coffee works best

A moka pot wants a fine grind, and our ready-ground coffee isn’t fine enough for it. Buy beans and grind them yourself and you’ll taste the difference straight away.

Darker roasts are the ones to reach for. Dr Jones, Sin City, or Wake the Beast.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on my hob?

Gas and electric, yes. For induction you’ll need the Bialetti plate adaptor, which we sell separately.

Should I get the 3-cup or the 6-cup?

Count how many espresso-sized servings you want in one go. The 3-cup makes three, the 6-cup makes up to six. A moka pot works best filled properly, so buy for your normal round rather than your biggest one.

What grind do I need?

Fine. Fill the basket level and don’t press it down. Our ready-ground coffee is too coarse for a moka pot, so buy beans and grind them yourself.
